Nashik: Over 6.91 Lakh Trees Planted As Green Maharashtra Campaign Gains Momentum

Nashik district planted 691,823 trees under the Green Maharashtra Campaign, achieving 22.17% of its target of 3,120,050 saplings.

The Forest Department planted 277,901 trees (42.11% of target); Social Forestry Department planted 212,397 trees (51.80% of target).

The Railways Department met its target by planting 7,000 trees; Higher and Technical Education Department exceeded its goal by planting 2,500 trees (125% of target).

Under 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' campaign, 12,561 trees were planted, achieving 83.74% of its target.

District Collector Ayush Prasad appealed to private companies, housing societies, and citizens to join large-scale plantation drives to build 'Progressive Nashik (Unnat Nashik)'.
