Deal to adopt govt schools was done long ago: Shivakumar

Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar said the deal for private schools to adopt government schools was made long ago.

The initiative aims to improve education quality by having prominent private school managements adopt rural government schools free of cost.

Agreements are being worked out under CSR funding with financially strong schools.

Shivakumar clarified that not all private schools are required to participate and invited protesting schools to discuss with him.

The statement was made in Chitradurga amid pushback from private educational institutions.
