IRCTC Beta Website Speeds Up Tatkal Bookings; Online Railway Ticket Share Climbs To Record 89.84 Per Cent

IRCTC's beta website increased Tatkal bookings completed within first 3 minutes by over 5%, within 5 minutes by 3%, and within 30 minutes by over 2%.

Online railway ticket bookings reached a record share of 89.84% in July 2026, reducing burden on the Passenger Reservation System (PRS).

The beta platform, launched on July 15, features streamlined booking, fewer CAPTCHAs, reduced pop-ups, and a redesigned interface showing seat availability across classes on one screen.

IRCTC is refining the beta website based on passenger feedback to make ticket booking faster, simpler, and more reliable.
