Who is Sonia Sehrawat? RAF officer at centre of CJP protest controversy

Sonia Sehrawat is an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF's Rapid Action Force (RAF), deployed during the CJP 'Sansad Chalo' march on July 20, 2026.

She was injured during clashes at Delhi's Jantar Mantar and later became the center of a social media controversy after a purported Instagram Story from her account went viral.

Sehrawat has over 6.2 lakh Instagram followers, posting dance videos, fitness content, and glimpses of life in uniform.

She joined the CRPF after clearing the UPSC Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) examination, motivated by her upbringing in Haryana where traditional norms restricted girls' opportunities.
