Who is Gabriel Perez? Veteran Trump teleprompter operator accused of making over $100,000 from Kalshi bets

Gabriel Perez, Deputy Assistant to the President and Technical Adviser since 2016, operated Trump’s teleprompter and had advance access to prepared remarks.

ABC News reported Perez made over $100,000 betting on Kalshi's 'Mentions' market using early knowledge of Trump speeches, including the State of the Union.

Kalshi flagged unusual activity, leading to a federal review; Perez was placed on unpaid leave, confirmed by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Perez allegedly placed bets on more than a dozen speeches over three months, sometimes adjusting or exiting bets while speeches were underway.
