Neeraj to face Pathirage in tough filed at Lausanne Diamond League

Neeraj Chopra will compete in the Lausanne Diamond League on August 21 against a field including Rumesh Pathirage, Arshad Nadeem, Keshorn Walcott, Anderson Peters, and Thomas Rohler.

Pathirage won the Commonwealth Games title with 89.75m and has a personal best of 92.62m, the only thrower to breach 90m this season.

Chopra won silver at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games with a season-best throw of 85.83m, his second meet after returning from a lower-back injury.

The Lausanne meet features five participants from the recently ended Commonwealth Games, including Chopra and Pathirage.

Chopra finished runner-up at Lausanne in 2024 with 89.49m and won the title in 2022 with 89.08m.
