Pune doctor booked for allegedly practising sans medical registration

Kondhwa police booked doctor Keshav Dara Wadia, 62, for allegedly practising electro-homeopathy without registration from any recognised medical council.

The FIR was filed on July 27 under sections 33(1) and 33(2) of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act, 1961, based on a complaint by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

On June 23, 2026, PMC's inquiry committee inspected the clinic in Tulsinagar, Kondhwa road, and found Wadia offering treatments like acupressure, chiropractic, and spinal therapy.

The committee found no allopathic medicines but noted that Wadia was not registered with bodies like Maharashtra Medical Council or Maharashtra Homoeopathic Council.

Police began recording statements; no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
