WNBA suspends Toronto Tempo coach Sandy Brondello one game

WNBA suspended Toronto Tempo head coach Sandy Brondello for one game after she made an inappropriate remark about Angel Reese.
Brondello called Reese a “protected species” during Toronto’s 111-92 loss to the Atlanta Dream, following an injury to Nyara Sabally involving Reese.
Brondello issued a public apology to Reese, saying her frustration was with officiating but her words unfairly targeted Reese and hurt Black women in the league.
As a result of the suspension, Brondello will miss Toronto’s game against the Las Vegas Aces on Monday.
Reese reacted on social media with a post reading 'ARE WE SURPRISED?! @SBrondello' and a clown face emoji.
