Balochistan declares August 11 Independence Day, seeks global recognition

Republic of Balochistan declared August 11 as Balochistan's Independence Day and called for global celebrations, renewing its appeal for international recognition.

Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch urged Baloch communities and diaspora to hoist the flag of an independent Balochistan at homes, markets, educational institutions and public places.

The group said the observance is intended to preserve the historical significance of the date and pass it on to future generations, with August 11 to be observed every year as the national day.

The Republic of Balochistan claimed it represents 60 million Baloch and said lasting peace is not possible unless Balochistan is recognized as an independent state.

The group cited August 11, 1947, as the date Balochistan first declared independence, reported by The New York Times, and criticized Pakistan's policies for regional instability.
