Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: 3rd Shaharnama Heritage Walk Draws History Enthusiasts

The third edition of the 'Shaharnama' Heritage Walk was held at the Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum of Antiquities in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

The event displayed rare Maratha-era weapons including armour, Waghnakh, Dandpatta, daggers, spears, Saang, Madu, swords, knives, Karwar, Khanjar, Bichwa, and Panchdhatu cannons weighing 1.5-2 tonnes.

Curator Swapnil Magar, Director Shriprakash Purwar, and archaeologist Ashutosh Patil guided participants through the museum, explaining its history and exhibits.

The museum also preserves copies of Dnyaneshwari, Eknathi Bhagwat manuscripts, and portraits of Sawai Madhavrao Peshwa, Rani Lakshmibai, and Mahadji Shinde.

The walk was jointly organized by MGM University's Department of History and Archaeology, Akhyan Foundation, Garware Community Centre, Rotary Club of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar East, AdGuide Media Pvt. Ltd, India Tourism Department, and Team Shaharnama.
