India’s nuclear reactor project with Russia has seen costs surge by 55% due to delays.

India currently has 8.8 GW of nuclear power capacity, contributing about 3% of the country’s power output.

The government opened the nuclear sector to private firms last year to expand capacity eleven-fold by 2047.
