BSF reservation benefits extend to ex-Agniveers

  1. The Centre extended reservation benefits to ex-Agniveers in the Border Security Force (BSF) via a notification issued on July 30.

  3. Ex-Agniveers are entitled to 50% reservation in Constable (General Duty) and Rifleman posts in CAPFs and Assam Rifles, and are exempted from the written exam, Physical Standards Test, and Physical Efficiency Test.

  4. The first batch of 2,600 Agniveers inducted into the Navy, who began training in November 2022, is likely to retire before November 2026 and become eligible to join CAPFs.

  5. State police forces like Haryana and Delhi have also reserved 20% of posts for Agniveers post-retirement.
