Residents protest closure of Gaur City Stadium; allege commercial construction

Residents of Gaur City 1 protested outside Gaur City Stadium on Saturday, alleging the management denied access due to commercial construction disguised as renovation.

A notice dated July 20 stated the stadium would close for one to two months for 'essential repair, renovation and maintenance work'.

The 18-acre stadium, established in 2015, includes a cricket ground, football ground, open gym and walking tracks; a family of four pays ₹1,800 annually.

Residents claim builder is grabbing land and cutting trees, but estate manager Vineeth Rajput denied any commercial construction.

Management says pass validity will be extended for the closure duration.
