Shaurya Sandhya, motorcycle display: Army kicks off commemorative events to honour Kargil heroes

The Indian Army kicked off commemorative events on July 25-26, 2026, to mark the 27th anniversary of Operation Vijay honouring Kargil heroes.

Events include 'Shaurya Sandhya', a musical presentation by Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre Band, and a motorcycle display by 'Shwet Ashwa'.

The commemoration begins with 'Yudh Sansmaran' at Lamochen view point, featuring video clips recounting the Kargil war and honouring 40 Kargil bravehearts.

A 'Gauravmaya Sanskriti' cultural event at Vishwanathan Stadium in Dras will feature patriotic performances and be attended by Lt Gen Madanraj Pande.

The Kargil War Memorial at Dras is the focal point, with events at multiple venues including Sando Top forward post area.
