Businessman survives point-blank firing in Vasai East

Mohan Singh Parmar was attacked outside his factory at Diamond Industrial Estate in Vasai East.

Two unidentified men approached Parmar; one fired a point-blank shot that missed, then struck him with the gun butt after the firearm malfunctioned.

Parmar owns a unit manufacturing aluminium foils for packaging tablets and capsules.

The assailants fled on a two-wheeler; a case of attempt to murder has been registered.

Police are examining CCTV footage and questioning witnesses to identify the attackers and determine the motive.
