Man kills 13-day-old daughter in Chikkaballapura as he did not want another girl child

A 13-day-old girl was killed by her father Imran in Chikkaballapura because he did not want another daughter.

Imran allegedly threw the newborn into a water sump at his in-laws' house in Shanthinagar, Nakkalakunte.

The infant was taken from beside her sleeping mother, Muskan, and thrown into the sump while the family slept.

Imran reportedly joined the search and suggested checking the sump, where the baby's cap and socks were found floating.

Police arrested Imran after investigators found claims of accidental drowning suspicious for a 13-day-old infant.
