Karnataka Public Service Commission under cloud over cash-for-jobs scam

aspiring veterinary medical officers lodged a complaint with Bengaluru police alleging cash-for-jobs scam in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment for 400 veterinary officer posts.

Suspended KPSC chairperson Shivashankarappa Sahukar is named accused number one in the FIR, along with other KPSC officials.

The complaint cites audio leaks demanding Rs 80-lakh bribes, question paper leaks at resorts, and unfairly high scores for underperforming applicants, including a close relative of Sahukar.

The exam for 400 posts took place in January, with final results announced on July 17; candidates who previously failed veterinary degree and UPSC exams allegedly secured top scores.

The complaint alleges that mobile phones of suspected successful candidates were switched off before exams, and that answer scripts with question papers were provided a day in advance.
