'P*** Espanya': Spain's Ferran Torres WC mural vandalised in Barcelona

A mural by street artist TVBoy honoring Spain's World Cup hero Ferran Torres was vandalized within 24 hours in Barcelona's Gràcia neighbourhood.

The mural showed Torres kissing the World Cup trophy with the words 'Making history' and two stars for Spain's titles.

It was defaced with political graffiti including 'P*** Espanya' and later 'volem seleccions catalanes' ('we want Catalan national teams').

Barcelona City Council removed the mural by cleaning and repainting the wall black.

The mural highlighted the intersection of football, art and Catalan politics in Barcelona.
