PMC to dismantle defunct mechanical parking facility at Sambhaji Park

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will dismantle the multi-level mechanical parking system at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Park on Jungli Maharaj Road after it remained defunct for years.

The PMC standing committee approved a proposal to appoint a contractor to remove the unsafe and financially unviable structure, as stated by committee chairman Shrinath Bhimale.

Sparktech Engineering, with a bid of ₹29,000 per metric tonne, will undertake the dismantling work under tender number 11-2026.

The facility was built at a cost of several crores but deteriorated due to lack of maintenance, posing a serious safety risk.
