Teachers’ organisation slams registrar’s message seeking proposals for 1-year PG course

Delhi University registrar Vikas Gupta sent a WhatsApp message to affiliated college principals inviting proposals for one-year postgraduate courses for 2026-27.

Democratic Teachers' Front (DTF) criticized the request, saying it will strain DU's resources amid existing infrastructure and faculty shortages.

DTF argued that colleges are already dealing with EWS quota expansion and the four-year undergraduate program without additional grants.

DTF condemned the move to discuss key decisions via WhatsApp instead of formal Academic and Executive Council meetings.

The one-year PG program is for students who completed the four-year undergraduate degree, but DTF claims the initiative was pushed surreptitiously.
