Leopard cub spotted near sector 54 residential society in Gurugram

A leopard cub was spotted twice on the night of July 14, 2026, near Ridgeview IFS Society in Gurugram's sector 54.

Security guards spotted the cub around 3am near the society entrance and alerted residents.

Residents linked the sighting to increasing encroachment in the Aravalli forest, including huts and semi-permanent structures.

The society's secretary, Savithri Lakshmanan, reported the matter to the forest department.

Residents had previously written to the forest department about illegal encroachments and open fires in the Aravalli forest.
