G B Nagar commissions 1st rooftop solar project in a high-rise residential society

Gautam Budh Nagar commissioned its first rooftop solar project under PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana at Arihant Arden Apartment Owners Association in Greater Noida West.

The 500 kWp grid-connected solar plant will reduce common area electricity expenses for 1,519 apartment owners, including lifts, lighting, and water pumping.

The society received ₹80 lakh as Central Financial Assistance under the scheme within 30 days of approval.

The plant is expected to generate 6–7.5 lakh units annually, saving ₹40–45 lakh per year on common electricity costs.

The project will cut 550–650 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, with technical support from Noida Power Company Limited.
