BMC Floats ₹45-Crore Tender To Beautify Regal Junction, Boost South Mumbai Tourism

BMC has floated a tender for beautification of Regal Cinema junction in Colaba at ₹45 crore.

The project includes a one-acre plaza opposite the office of the Director General of Police, Maharashtra, which will house Mumbai's first open-air art museum.

Around 27 traffic signals near Regal Junction will be reduced to nine, and one-way traffic from Regal to Gateway of India is planned.

The beautification is part of the pedestrianisation plan for Kala Ghoda, Gateway of India, and Regal Junction.

Work includes illumination, realignment, cobblestones, repositioning of Vikrant Memorial, and heritage-style lamp posts.
