Aaron Rodgers told The Athletic he will play in the Steelers' first two preseason games if coach Mike McCarthy wants him to.

The preseason games are against Rodgers' former teams, the Packers and the New York Jets.

Mike McCarthy said no decision has been made and more planning is needed before deciding on Rodgers' preseason playing time.

Rodgers, 42, is entering his second season as Steelers starter, with Mason Rudolph, Will Howard, and rookie Drew Allar competing for backup spots.

Rodgers and McCarthy were together with the Packers from 2006-18, winning Super Bowl XLV, and Rodgers has said 2026 will be his final season.
