Teen caught with stolen Civil War cannonballs at airport

A teenager stole five Civil War cannonballs from Fort Morgan, a historic Alabama fort.

TSA officers at Gulf Shores International Airport discovered the rusted cannonballs wrapped in paper towels inside a checked suitcase.

Bomb specialists confirmed the cannonballs were inert after inspecting them.

The teenager placed the relics in his grandmother's suitcase before traveling to the airport.

The cannonballs were returned to Fort Morgan after the incident.
