Defunct Signal Timers Frustrate Pune Commuters

Traffic Signal Countdown Timers at Pune junctions including Laxmi Narayan Chowk, Alka Chowk, Railway Station flyover, Swargate Chowk, Maldhakka Chowk, Wakdewadi Signal, and Khadki Range Hills have stopped functioning.

Without countdowns, commuters face uncertainty during signal waits, leading to impatience, honking, and confusion, especially during rush hour.

IT professional Rohan Kulkarni stated the missing timer makes wait times unpredictable, calling it irritating during rush hour.

College student Sneha Patil noted that the non-functional timers cause premature movement and impatience, increasing accident risks.

DCP (Traffic) Sandeep Bhajibhakare said the traffic department will inspect and take action on the malfunctioning systems.
