Karnataka plans to tap corporate social responsibility funds to upgrade 1,000 public schools

Karnataka will use CSR funds to upgrade 1,000 public schools into Karnataka Public Schools (KPS).
The education department invites corporates, NGOs, or communities to develop schools with infrastructure and maintenance for at least three years.
Donors can establish STEAM labs, computer labs, libraries, smart classrooms, provide transportation, or contribute to a KPS corpus fund.
The government will allow donors to associate their name with the school as an incentive.
AIDSO criticized the move, stating it represents government retreat from education responsibility.
