Panthers' Taylor Moton out with blood clot in lung

Carolina Panthers placed veteran right tackle Taylor Moton on the non-football injury list after he was diagnosed with a blood clot in his lung in late June 2026.

Moton is expected to miss part of the regular season due to the blood clot, though he is responding positively to treatment and is expected to return during the season.

The Panthers may also be without left tackle Ikem Ekwonu, who is recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon suffered in the Wild Card playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams in January.

Carolina signed veteran left tackle Rasheed Walker in free agency as a potential replacement for Ekwonu, and first-round rookie Monroe Freeling is an option to fill in at right tackle for Moton.
