The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) held elections on Sunday to form Town Vending Committees (TVCs) across 12 administrative zones, with only 41% voter turnout.
Each TVC will have 30 members: 12 elected from street vendors, and 18 from police, government officials, NGOs, and other stakeholders; 23 TVCs are to be formed.
The National Association of Street Vendors (Nasvi) raised concerns about procedural irregularities, including glitches in polling and insufficient booths causing overcrowding.
MCD stated the polling process complied with statutory provisions and guidelines, and results are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday.
