Johnny Depp to play Scrooge in 'Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol'

Paramount Pictures announced the horror-fantasy film Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol starring Johnny Depp as Ebenezer Scrooge.

The film is directed by Ti West and presents a darker, supernatural reinterpretation of Charles Dickens' 1843 novella A Christmas Carol.

Depp's role as Scrooge marks his first major Hollywood studio film since 2018, following his domestic abuse case with Amber Heard.

The cast includes Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley, Andrea Riseborough as the Ghost of Christmas Past, and Daisy Ridley as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.

Depp promoted the film at San Diego Comic Con in character, interacting with fans in costume as Scrooge.
