McIlroy invites DeChambeau after 'performative' remark

Rory McIlroy invited Bryson DeChambeau to play at the 2026 Amgen Irish Open, saying his presence would be 'great for the tournament'.

McIlroy recently called DeChambeau 'performative' and said he is 'not particularly fond of him' after DeChambeau's two-shot penalty at The Open.

DeChambeau has not confirmed participation in the Irish Open at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, Ireland.

The rivalry stems from DeChambeau joining LIV Golf while McIlroy remained a vocal supporter of the PGA Tour.
