Suspected Ebola case in Delhi: BSF constable from Congo mission admitted to RML, sample sent for testing

A 52-year-old BSF constable returning from Democratic Republic of Congo was admitted to RML Hospital's isolation ward after developing fever during quarantine.

His blood sample was sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for confirmatory Ebola testing; results are awaited.

The case remains suspected; Ebola infection has not been confirmed as of now.

The constable was part of an Indian UN peacekeeping contingent and arrived in India on July 11, undergoing a 21-day quarantine.
