Telangana CM backs lowering age for MLAs, MPs to 21

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy supports lowering the minimum age for becoming an MLA and MP to 21 years.

He argued that if 21-year-olds can become IAS officers, they should also be eligible for legislative positions.

Reddy plans to introduce a resolution in the Telangana Assembly as a first step.

He will later raise the issue in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

The proposed change aims to allow younger citizens to contest elections for state and national legislatures.
