Stephen Fleming appointed England Test head coach, replacing Brendon McCullum.

Fleming will start after the Pakistan series; Marcus Trescothick interim head coach for first matches.

Root's first series as captain is a three-match Test series against Pakistan starting August 19 in Leeds.

ECB's Robert Key opted for Root over Harry Brook, who remains white-ball captain.
