Maharashtra woman stabbed to death, accused dies by suicide hours later

A 20-year-old woman, Vaishnavi Avare, was stabbed to death by Sahil Ashok Lavare in Nashik, Maharashtra.

Lavare slit Avare's throat near a temple in Indiranagar area late on Friday night.

Lavare was found hanging from a tree on a jogging track around 3 am, hours after the murder.

The attack is suspected to have stemmed from a one-sided love affair, according to preliminary police probe.

A murder case has been registered; investigation is ongoing to determine the exact motive.
