Baresi made 719 appearances for AC Milan over 20 seasons, winning 3 European Cups and 6 Serie A titles.

He was part of Italy's 1982 World Cup-winning squad and later captained Italy in the 1994 World Cup final.

Baresi redefined the libero role, known for his anticipation and tactical intelligence.
