Magnitude 2.9 earthquake jolts Delhi's North District early Sunday

A magnitude 2.9 earthquake struck Delhi's North District on Sunday at 4:14 am.

The National Center for Seismology confirmed the tremor occurred at a depth of 8 km.

Shallow earthquakes, such as this one, are more dangerous because they release energy closer to the surface.
