MLC directs MCC not to disrupt birth & death registration due to SIR

MLC Ivan D’Souza met Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) commissioner Ravichandra Naik and directed him not to disrupt birth and death registration services due to the SIR process.

Notices at MCC office announcing disruption of services due to SIR were removed following the MLC's intervention.

Mangaluru City South MLA D Vedavyas Kamath had accused the state government of creating administrative chaos by disrupting birth and death registration services.

MCC had posted a notice requesting public cooperation from June 30 to July 29 as staff were deployed for SIR election duty.

The commissioner assured sufficient staff would be deployed to ensure smooth workflow at the counters.
