Ex-Texas A&M RB Le'Veon Moss arrested in son's shooting death

Former Texas A&M running back Le'Veon Moss was arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile.

Moss's 2-year-old son accidentally shot himself after accessing a firearm stored under Moss's pillow while Moss was asleep.

Moss rushed his son to Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital; the severity of the child's injuries has not been released.

The arrest affidavit concluded that Moss's negligence caused a child under 17 to suffer unjustifiable pain under Louisiana's cruelty-to-juveniles statute (14:93).

Moss retired days after signing with the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent; he received $258,000 in guaranteed money before stepping away.
