Zetwerk, Ayr lock horns in US over trade-secret theft claims

Zetwerk and Ayr Energy have accused each other of stealing trade secrets in US courts.

Ayr filed complaints with the US ITC and Texas Business Court, seeking a ban on imports and at least $1 billion in damages.

Zetwerk denied the allegations, stating Ayr's earlier lawsuit was withdrawn after failing in a California court.

Zetwerk filed a lawsuit in Texas in October 2025 seeking $100 million, claiming Ayr co-founder Anirudh Reddy stole confidential documents while a Zetwerk executive.

The dispute escalates as Zetwerk prepares for its India IPO, expected to raise Rs 4,000-5,000 crore.
