Bhatt recalls how Ajay, Nagarjuna and Pooja's Zakhm faced a three month censor battle

Mahesh Bhatt's film 'Zakhm', starring Ajay Devgn, Nagarjuna, and Pooja Bhatt, faced a three-month censor battle under the NDA government.

Bhatt was disturbed when CBFC head Asha Parekh suggested getting clearance from Bal Thackeray or LK Advani.

The film had to be watched by the Home Ministry and underwent alterations to secure release.

Zakhm initially underperformed at the box office but later became a cult classic.

The film was drawn from Bhatt's own life, as he was born to a Muslim mother and Hindu father.
