Contractor booked for duping Borivali RTO

A contractor, Vishal Shankar Shinde, proprietor of Vidisha Corporation, was booked by MHB Colony police for allegedly cheating the Borivali Regional Transport Office (RTO).

The RTO awarded Vidisha Corporation a tender in April 2025 to securely destroy obsolete records, with a certificate of destruction required within 30 days.

On May 23, 2025, Shinde received 2.178 tonnes of obsolete records valued at ₹29,533, but allegedly failed to destroy them or deposit the sale proceeds.

Shinde did not submit the destruction certificate or pay the ₹29,533 despite repeated reminders, causing a loss to the RTO and the government.
