Chennai Weather LATEST Update: Chennai to Receive Light Rain, IMD Warns of Strong Winds

A weak trough over the Tamil Nadu coast will bring light to moderate rain to parts of the state, including Chennai, on July 21.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of gusty winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph, with thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.

Chennai will have partly cloudy skies with light rain possible in the evening or night; temperatures range from 26-27°C (min) to 36-37°C (max).

A strong wind warning is in effect for Tamil Nadu coastal waters, Gulf of Mannar, and adjoining Kanyakumari Sea from July 21 to 24, with winds of 45-55 kmph and gusts up to 65 kmph.

Fishermen have been advised to exercise caution and avoid venturing into the sea during the warning period.
