Mumbai Airport Customs Arrests 21-Year-Old Woman For Allegedly Smuggling 2.4 Kg Marijuana From Bangkok

Mumbai Airport Customs arrested 21-year-old Sonia Singh, a resident of Rourkela, Odisha, for allegedly smuggling 2.4 kg of marijuana from Bangkok.

The marijuana, weighing 2,409 grams, was concealed in false cavities inside the walls of her trolley bag and was recovered at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (CSMI) Airport.

The drugs are covered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Singh admitted to concealing and smuggling the drugs for monetary consideration.

Investigation is ongoing to identify other persons involved in the smuggling network.
