The project aims to reduce road congestion, provide affordable public transport, boost tourism, and improve environmental sustainability.
Execution will begin after state government approval.
The project comprises four phases: Gomti River Navigation Channel (13.8 km), Kukrail River Navigation Channel (6.8 km), Haidar Canal Water Taxi Project (13.41 km), and Sharda Canal Rail Bus-cum-Water Taxi Project (20 km), costing ₹380 crore, ₹190 crore, ₹390 crore, and ₹210 crore respectively.
