Elderly couple dies by suicide in Bengaluru

year-old Eeshwar Achari and 66-year-old Gauri Achari died by suicide at their Shivanalli residence in Manjunathanagar, Basaveshwaranagar, Bengaluru.

The couple was reportedly worried over health and financial issues; Gauri Achari suffered from hip dislocation, diabetes, and asthma.

Eeshwar Achari worked as a goldsmith until 2020 and stopped due to age-related problems; the couple faced financial crisis from medical expenses.

The suicide came to light when a daughter visited after they failed to answer phone calls; police found a poison-laced soft drink bottle.
