Ayodhya Ram mandir donation row: On Supreme Court suggestion, temple SIT to include a forensic auditor

Supreme Court directed UP government to add a forensic audit expert to the SIT investigating alleged embezzlement of Ayodhya Ram Mandir donations.

The SIT, headed by IGP Kiran S, was constituted on Supreme Court's July 20 order.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assured the court that a chartered accountant with forensic audit expertise would be drafted into the SIT.

Supreme Court rejected a request for retired judge supervision, stating it will monitor the investigation directly.

SIT must submit a probe status report within two weeks; court warned against politicizing the issue.
