Cops bust arms smuggling module: 3 held with AK-47, grenade in Amritsar

Amritsar rural police arrested three individuals, including a juvenile, and recovered an AK-47 rifle, a modified M4-type .30-bore automatic weapon, and a specially modified .30-bore semi-automatic weapon along with five magazines and a hand grenade.
Those arrested are Aakashbir Singh alias Kaashi and Joban Singh, both from Amritsar, and a juvenile.
Police received a tip-off that the suspects were procuring weapons, ammunition and grenades via drones from across the border.
The operation was launched near the Attari area, leading to the arrests.
A case under Sections 25 of the Arms Act and Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Explosive Substances Act has been registered at Gharinda police station.
