Israeli strike, West Bank violence kill five Palestinians, officials say

An Israeli airstrike killed two Palestinians in northern Gaza on July 23, 2026, medics said.

Three Palestinians were killed in the occupied West Bank: two by an Israeli civilian after a stabbing attack, and one by Israeli forces after a separate stabbing incident.

Israel's military said the Gaza strike targeted militants, and the West Bank killings followed attacks that wounded an Israeli civilian and an Israeli soldier.

More than 1,160 Palestinians and four Israeli soldiers have been reported killed since the October 2025 ceasefire, according to Palestinian and Israeli tallies.

The West Bank killings occurred amid high tensions over settler violence and Israeli settlement plans, which most foreign governments consider illegal under international law.
