Regulations Are Being Implemented: FDA Commissioner Tukaram Munde On Statewide Food Safety Drive

Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Munde announced intensified enforcement against restaurants, cloud kitchens, and eateries violating food safety norms.

Licences of several establishments, including Rustom Ice Cream Parlour, Poornima Restaurant, BMC headquarters canteen, and Parsi Dairy Farm, were suspended for non-compliance.

FDA inspectors regularly collect food samples for lab testing and conduct annual audits at manufacturing plants under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

The department also acts on public complaints and intelligence inputs to identify violations and take legal action.
